Angela Morris

Owner & Hospitality Operator

Toad Hall

Ang is a long-standing Motueka hospitality operator and the owner of Toad Hall, one of Te Tauihu’s best-known local food destinations. For many years, Ang has championed an approach to hospitality grounded in fresh, locally sourced food, strong relationships with growers and producers, and creating places that bring community together.

Under her leadership, Toad Hall has grown from its beginnings as a fruit and vegetable store into a thriving café, food and community destination. Its philosophy reflects the abundance of the Motueka and wider Nelson Tasman region, with a strong emphasis on using locally grown produce, making food on site and supporting regional suppliers.

Ang’s work extends beyond Toad Hall. She has been involved in developing other hospitality ventures across the region and is currently leading the Toad Hall offering at Kaiteriteri’s Waterfront Restaurant, bringing the same emphasis on accessible, wholesome food and local hospitality to one of the region’s most significant visitor destinations.

Through her practical experience across hospitality, food procurement and community-focused enterprise, Ang brings an important perspective on how local food systems operate at the point where growers, businesses and consumers meet. Her experience reflects the opportunity to build stronger regional food economies by connecting good food, local production, enterprise and community.
